Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza on Thursday visited Embassy of Japan to offer sympathies and express solidarity with the families affected by massive earthquake and tsunami in Japan. She was accompanied by MNA's Asiya Nasir, Azeem Daultana, Yasmen and Tahira Aurangzeb.
Writing her comments in the message book placed in the Embassy, the Speaker wrote she was deeply dismayed at the colossal loss of lives and property in the brotherly country of Japan, as a result of the massive earthquake and the triggering Tsunami of March 11, 2011. The destruction was a great human tragedy that has saddened all Pakistanis, who join their Japanese brothers and sister in their hour of grief and pain, she wrote.
She further wrote that on behalf of parliament of Pakistan and people, she offers profound sympathies and expresses solidarity with the families of all those who perished or were missing, and to the thousand of Japanese displaced by the unimaginable effects of this disaster. She assured Japanese friends every possible help in these testing times.-PR
