The Jamaat-e-Islami, Lahore, took out a big rally in the Punjab capital on Wednesday to condemn the desecration of the Holy Quran by an American pastor. Thousands of men, women and children joined the rally which was led by the JI deputy chief, Sirajul Haq, Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch and JI Lahore chief, Amirul Azeem.
Addressing the rally, Liaquat Baloch said the US was hatching conspiracies against Islam and the Muslims but the Pakistani rulers and generals were not ready to doff the yoke of US slavery. The participants of the rally marched from Wahdat Road Park up to Muslim Town More with the JI banners in their hands, raising slogans condemning the devilish pastor's blasphemous act.
Holding copies of the Holy Quran in their hands, the participants vowed to lay down their lives for its sanctity. Liaquat Baloch, addressing the participants at the close, said that the Muslims could not tolerate sacrilege of the Holy Prophet and the desecration of the Holy Quran and would make every sacrifice to protect their sanctity. He was sure that the devilish pastor Terry Jones would soon become a sign of divine admonition for the US and the world at large and the earth would refuse to provide him shelter for inviting Allah's wrath.
