Pakistan cricket team suffered a major setback, after all rounder Faheem Ashraf sustained a hamstring injury ahead of New Zealand tour.
Ashraf now joins the list of the injured fast bowlers in the ongoing National T20 Cup. The youngster representing the Faisalabad side also missed the semifinal of the tournament, which his team lost by 10 runs against the Lahore Whites.
The all rounder is now at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, undergoing rehab and hope to get fit in time for the tour of New Zealand in January next year.
Ashraf came into limelight after impressive showings against Sri Lanka, where he became the first bowler from Pakistani to attain a hat trick in T20I format.
Meanwhile, Pakistan tour of New Zealand will feature five One Day Internationals (ODI) and three T20I, and one practice game. The tour will begin on January 3, next year and would conclude on January 28.
