Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 98,685 tonnes of cargo including 64,164 tonnes of import cargo, 34,521 tonnes of export cargo, 4,927 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 64,164 tonnes comprised of 40,018 tonnes of containerised cargo; 538 tonnes of general cargo; 2,608 tonnes of rock phosphate and 21,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,521 tonnes comprised of 27,009 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,312 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,408 tonnes of wheat; 2,904 tonnes of cement and 2,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Three ships namely MT Lahore, Cardonia and TS Tokyo with crude oil and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Hanjin Rome, APL Chicago, Positano, Full Rich, Rainbow and Oriental Marguerite carrying containers, wheat and base oil respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Alpine Athelia and Wan Hai-603 carrying LSFO and containers respectively expected to sail on Saturday, while five ships namely Kota Arif, Defney, Hanjin Rome, Fatima and MT Karachi with containers, general cargo, containers, cement and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Four vessels viz YM Europe, Silver Craft, MOL Success and Panama Express carrying containers and steel & general cargo respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while ten vessels viz Al-Kuwaitiah, Loi Hope, Chemroad Mega, OEL Trust, MSC Peggy, Hyundai Tacoma, APL Ruby, Glory River, New Legand Fortune and Nam Aob with high speed diesel, ethanol, palm oil, containers, cement, general cargo and sulphur respectively are due to arrive on Sunday. Two container vessels viz Al-Wajba and Abtiny are due to arrive on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 91,956 tonnes of cargo includes 63,497 tonnes of import cargo and 28,459 tonnes of export cargo, 2,525 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 63,497 tonnes includes 49,757 tonnes of diesel oil and 13,740 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,459 tonnes includes 4,778 tonnes of wheat; 1,313 tonnes of rice; 3,060 tonnes of cement and 19,308 tonnes of containerised cargo. Four ships namely CV Saudi Abha, CV MSC Jade, CV Glory and MV Rana sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while another ship namely MT Al-Soor-II is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz CV Saudi Abha, CV MSC Jade, CV Glory, MV Rana, MV Island Star, MV Kimono-A, MV Trans Ocean, Suchada Naree, MV Galaxy and MT Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, wheat, sugar and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. Five ships namely Alexi-1, New Legent Fortune, Iron Monger-5, Ginga Facon and Jang San Fortune carrying cement, project cargo, furnace oil, crude palm oil and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of five vessels viz CV MSC Anafi, CV Libra Cop Cabafia, MV New Legent Fortune, MT Ginga Facon and MT Iron Monger-5 carrying containers, project cargo, palm oil and furnace oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-3), Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Saturday.
