'Promotion of education must to encounter present challenges'

Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran has stated that promotion of education is a must to encounter the present challenges and make the country get honourable place and respect in the comity of nations. Creation and promotion of new knowledge is the most powerful weapon for survival in the 21st century.
He was addressing the newly-admitted students of Fall 2010 at PU College of Information Technology, here on Friday. College Principal Professor Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Advisor Student Affairs Professor Iftikhar Ahmad Chaudhry, Advisor to VC Colonel Ikramullah Khan, Director External Linkages Maria Maldonado, faculty members and a large number of students were also present on the occasion. Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran also inaugurated the Al-Khwarizmi Lecture Theatre having the sitting capacity of 64 students, which is a worthy addition to the buildings of the historic Old Campus.
Dr Mujahid Kamran said Pakistani nation is highly skilled and capable on the basis of which it can rule shoulders with other advanced nations of the world. He stressed upon the students to devote their lives seeking education and promote the habit of reading and hard work. He asked them to respect each other's opinions with open mind. He said PU has very peaceful and democratic academic atmosphere where everyone has the right to express his/her thoughts. He advised the students to get strong grip on their respective area of studies and promote brotherhood, harmony and love because these are the teachings of our Prophets and saints.
