The tumultuous welcome received by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in Pakistan during his state visit last month signifies the love and affection the people of two countries enjoy, Senator Talha Mahmood, Chairman Senate Standing Committee, Minister of Interior said here on Monday.
"China is the only country in the world that wanted to see Pakistan, a strong and prosperous country", said Senator Talha in an interview with APP. The JUI leader, who is here on a visit, said Premier Wen visit to his country would help to further deepen our all weather friendship.
To a question, he said that for the establishment of peace in the country, the strong economy is prerequisite and with the help of China, Pakistan will soon overcome this challenge. He said that all political parties in Pakistan, though have difference of opinion on various issues, but they all are united for the strong relationship with China.
"China is the only country that always helped Pakistan in overcoming the difficulty situation," he said and added that Pakistan's government and their people also did all out help to their Chinese brethren in their capacity.
Senator Talha on law and order situation in Karachi said, my party fully supports the establishment of tranquility there and advised all the political forces to get united to achieve peace there as Karachi is a mini Pakistan as well as the economic hub of our beloved country."
On Monday, Senator Talha met with Deputy Director General Ministry of Commerce Liang Wentao, Vice-President of China Road and Bridge Corporation Lio Hong, Director General of Ministry of Commerce LU Kejiau and Yu Ping, Vice Chairman China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
During these meetings, Senator Talha exchanged views on implementation of various projects from Chinese side for the benefits of common men in Pakistan. On Tuesday, Senator Talha will meet the President of largest enterprise the China Road and Bridge Corporation engaged in various mega projects in Pakistan.
