MOL suspends extraction from Pakistani oil and gas well

Hungarian oil group MOL has suspended extraction from its Maramzai well in Pakistan, a site near which two of its subcontractors were killed and two kidnapped last week, MOL said on Monday. "About 90 people, most of them MOL employees, work there," MOL spokeswoman Andrea Panczel told Reuters. "Production from that well, only that well, has been suspended temporarily."
She said the well accounted for some one-eighth of MOL's total crude and natural gas output in Pakistan, or about 1,600 barrels of crude and 40 million cubic feet of gas per day. It is unclear how long the Maramzai well will remain shut, the spokeswoman said, adding that other MOL sites in Pakistan were not affected.
