Dry fruits, moong, gram, grains dal, gur rose on the commodity markets during the week ended on January 22, 2011, with the rest items also taking line with world rates. On Monday, on the rice side Irri-6 Sindh rose by Rs25 to Rs3375 and Rs3400.
On the barley side Sindh and Mardan rose by Rs50 to Rs2600. Gur low type gave away Rs100 to Rs6600, while the other variety was put at Rs7300. Rapeseed Nawabshah and Mirpur ended down Rs50 to Rs2300 and Rs2325, and rapseed cake lost Rs10 to Rs940 and Rs950.
On Jodia Bazaar dry fruits (per 40kg) Walnut in Shell I ended higher by Rs2000 to Rs10,000 and Rs14,000. Walnut (Kernel) was quoted at Rs32000 and 40,000. Raisin green rose by Rs3000 to Rs10,000 and Rs20,000, Sunderkhani rose by Rs8000 to Rs20,000 raisin No II up Rs2000 to Rs8000, Apricol-I up Rs2000 to Rs6000 and Rs10,000 and Chilghoza unroasted was quoted at Rs70,000.
On Tuesday wheat old was quoted at Rs 2645 and Rs2650, while new quality was registered at Rs2660 and Rs2665. Grams Australia rose by Rs100 to Rs5300 and Rs5500, gram dal Australia rose by Rs150 to Rs6300 and Rs6500. Grams 50x50 rose by Rs50 to Rs5700 and Rs5900. Yellow peas Canada rose by Rs75 to Rs3200 and Rs3400. Yellow peas dal Canada up same amount to Rs3600 and Rs3750. Yellow peas Ukraine up by Rs75 to Rs3150 and Rs3300, yellow peas dal up same amount to Rs3550 and Rs3700. Cottonseed cakes with bag low type rose by Rs10 toRs1270, while better type lost Rs50 to Rs1295. Meanwhile BD tea is showing downtrend.
On Wednesday wheat old was quoted at Rs2645 and new was registered at Rs2600. Gur low type was put at Rs6600, while better type shed Rs300 to Rs7000. Irri 6 Sindh lost Rs25 to Rs3350 and Rs3375. Cotton cakes low type shed Rs70 to Rs1280, while better type lost to be quoted at Rs1250.
On Thursday moong prices shot up sharply by Rs300 to Rs10,250. Gur low type lost Rs100 to Rs6500, while the other type shed Rs300 to Rs7300. Irri-6 Sindh low type lost Rs30 to Rs3330, while better type also followed the same pattern losing Rs 25 to Rs 3350. Irri- white low type rose by Rs25 to Rs2750, while the other type was up Rs50 to Rs2800. Cotton cakes with bag low type rose by Rs60 to Rs1280, while the other type was up Rs50 to Rs1300.
On Jodia Bazaar Kenya Tea (per kg) PF-1 A grade up Rs 50 to Rs450, B grade rose by Rs35 to Rs410, Plus C grade rose by Rs 25 to Rs350, D-1 A grade rose by Rs 20 to Rs430 and B grade up Rs 15 to Rs390, Indonesian Tea PF-1 Good A rose by Rs45 to Rs290, and good A up Rs15 to Rs275. Tanzanian tea PF1 (CTC) rose by Rs40 to Rs300 and BP1 (CTC) up Rs20 to Rs265 Rwanda tea PF-1 (CTC) up Rs45 to Rs375, BP 1 (CTC) quoted at Rs 315 and PD (CTC) up Rs20 to Rs320.
On Saturday a few deals finalised as most of the commodity markets remained closed since Friday after killing of three people in Jodia Bazaar. On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh low type shed Rs 55 to Rs 3275 and best quality was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 3300, other items maintained overnight levels. On the seed side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag inferior type was down by Rs 20 to Rs 1260, while the good variety was unchanged at Rs 1300, prices.
