Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Information Sharmila Faruqui has said that Rs 16 billion were being spent on various development projects in the province. She was speaking to a delegation of Urban Rural Development Organisation (URDO), according to a statement of her office issued here on Sunday.
She said that present government managed to complete 230 schemes during the last 3 (three) years. Besides, many major roads were being improved in order in redress traffic problems. She added that Karachi was one of the greatest cities and thickly populated and its population had reached 190 million people and the problems of traffic were on rise and to solve the problem Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project was being revived with the assistance of Japanese government and it would benefit millions of commuters.
Sharmila said that Rs 3 billion have been allocated for at least 31 development schemes for the second largest city of the province, Hyderabad, the statement added.
