Inspector General of Sindh Police, Sultan Salahuddin Babar Khatak has directed the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Karachi and Regional Police Officers (RPOs), Hyderabad and Sukkur to make fool-proof security arrangements on Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A).
He directed the officials to make the security arrangements on the patron that of Ashura-e-Muharram. The Provincial Police Chief directed special security arrangements be made on routes of main mourning processions and police commandos be deployed at sensitive areas as well as at all those buildings, which are located on the routes of the mourning processions.
He directed that close liaison be also developed among the law enforcement agencies to provide peaceful environment on Chehlum. He directed that entry of all the participants to the Nishter Park be allowed only from walk-through and they be also checked with co-ordination of the organisers of the Majlis.
The women volunteers be deployed to check the women participants of the Majlis, he directed. He said commandos and snipers be also deployed at pickets at high rise structures, besides, monitoring of the processions with the help of close-circuit cameras.
He directed that the vehicles, which join the processions be also thoroughly checked and no vehicle be allowed without sticker. The IGP Sindh said provocative wall chalking be also removed with the help of representatives of City Government, from the metropolis. He appealed to the people to inform the police on 021-99212066-02199213081, in case they spot any thing or person suspicious.
