Benazir Bhutto murder case: ATC extends police officials' remand for 10 days

Anti-Terrorism Court on Saturday extended the physical remand of former city police officer Syed Saud Aziz and SP Khurram Shahzad for ten days. FIA team produced both the officers before the court and requested for extension in remand period to recover cell-phones that were in their use on December 27, 2007, the day Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in a gun-and-bomb attack.
The trial court judge expressed surprise over the statement of defence lawyers in the high court that mobile handsets given to investigators by the police officers were not the ones they were using in 2007. Earlier, counsel for the two officers had informed the trial judge that their mobile sets were handed over to investigators. While Saud Aziz said that he has provided all the record of his telephone calls to the team.
