Soyabean export premiums at the US Gulf Coast declined on Tuesday amid slow export demand, while corn held mostly steady, traders said. Slow farmer selling capped the losses in soyabeans. A visiting Chinese delegation will sign agreements to buy US soyabeans on Thursday, the US Soyabean Export Council said. The council did not specify an amount.
Traders in Asia said China had cancelled purchases of some US soyabean shipments last week. Corn basis offers at the Gulf mostly held steady, but there was a lack of fresh demand. Hard red winter wheat basis offers were supported by the USDA confirming a sale of 145,000 tonnes of US HRW wheat to Turkey for delivery in the 2010/11 marketing year (June/May).
