ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday directed the federation and the provincial government of Balochistan to submit implementation report on recommendations made in the Quetta Inquiry Commission report and disposed of a part of the case regarding endowment fund, housing scheme and jobs.

The bench remarked that the court wanted to know about the stance of federal and provincial governments regarding recommendations made by Justice Qazi Faez Isa Commission.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa and comprising Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel heard the suo moto notice case regarding tragic incident of Civil Hospital Quetta.

Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa remarked that the things are going in right direction and there is no need for further delay in the case. The matter of housing scheme and endowment fund is near solution as provincial government looks active to resolve the issues of lawyers community.

The Advocate General Balochistan appeared before the bench and submitted implementation report on recommendations made by Quetta Inquiry Comission report. The court after reviewing the report termed it satisfactory.

The petitioner told the bench that the issue of Quetta trauma centre has not yet been resolved. Upon this Justice Khosa remarked that the court could not monitor the recruitment process in hospital rather it can issue directions only.

Justice Dost Muhammad Khan directed to issue notices to those doctors who did not comply with the direction of the administration.

During the course of proceedings, Additional Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also appeared before the court and said the victims of Mardan blast want compensation equal to that given to victims of Quetta blast because they have also been affected badly by the terrorism.

Justice Khosa remarked that every segment of society is affected by terrorism but we cannot treat every incident in comparison with Quetta blast.

He asked that whether KPK government can cooperate in a way as the Balochistan government had done. Later, hearing of the case was adjourned till January 8.
