Wheat procurement, export of food stocks: authorities told to formulate transparent system

Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed Food authorities to formulate a transparent system of wheat procurement and export of present food stocks so that interests of farmers can be safeguard. He expressed these views while addressing a meeting here on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Punjab Nasir Mehmood Khosa, Secretary Food Irfan Elahi, Secretary Agriculture Arif Nadeem and provincial ministers Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Ahmed Ali Aulakh and Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said that Food Department should purchase plastic and jute bags for the storage of wheat, keeping in view the environment and temperature level of different parts of the province. He said that previous stock of these bags should also be utilised.
