Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan on Monday described the lawyers first line of defence for democracy as they always rendered sacrifices for supremacy of law and constitution. The minister expressed these views during a meeting with lawyers delegation headed by Tanveer Hashmi, President of People's lawyers Forum Punjab.
The twenty-member lawyers delegation included Deputy Attorney General Malik Mushtaq Awan, President Lahore High Court Bar Chaudhry Latif Iyaz, President Lahore Division Safdar Bhatti, President Lahore District Shahid Hassan Khokhar, Rafila Anjum Minhas and others.
The Minister said that despite these sacrifices they have always been badly neglected, said a press release here. "Since my assuming the Law Minister office, my top priority has been to seek solutions to problems of lawyers' community," he added.
