Member of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rabita Committee, Gulfaraz Khan Khatak appealed to all pro-democratic and moderate parties to play a role to foil attempts to disturb tranquillity in metropolis and to protect life and property of the Karachiites.
He said, "we appeal to the people to stay calm and foil the nefarious designs of anti-peace elements through unity." The MQM leader was addressing a press conference at Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall, Azizabad here on Saturday. Gulfaraz Khan Khatak was accompanied by other members of the Rabita Committee, Javed Kazmi, Ashfaq Mangi and Syed Shakir Ali.
He said Badshah Khan, 55, was shot dead by unknown terrorists near his residence at Fareed Colony, Orangi Town. Badshah Khan was a former naib nazim of SITE Town and was serving the MQM as member of Muttahida Organising Committee, Karachi. He said," we have lost a loyal, honest, brave and committed party worker. The death of Badshah Khan is a big tragedy for us. He termed his murder as an attempt to disturb peace in the metropolis. The MQM leader demanded of the government to arrest the assassins of Badshah Khan and awarded them stern punishment. He also called for taking concrete steps for protection of life and properties of the people.
