A journalist of a private news channel (not Aaj News) was gunned down in the limits of Super Market police station on Thursday night. Police sources said some unknown armed men attacked Wali Khan Babar at Liaquatabad Super Market after he had left his office for home in his car (AEE-613). They said the Babar received several bullets in his head and other parts before he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Nasir Mehmood, the SHO of Super Market police station, told Business Recorder that Wali Khan Babar was targeted by unknown assailants at Liaquatabad Super Market at around 9:40pm. He said the body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed hospital for autopsy. No case was registered till filing of this report.
In another incident, Acting General Secretary of ANP Sindh and his guard were injured in the limits of New Town Police Station on late Thursday night. According to ANP spokesman Qadir Khan, Bashir Jan was targeted by some unknown assailants after he had left to a private news channel in the limits of New Town Police Station on late Thursday. He said that Bashir Jan and his guard Arshad were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment. He said that both are now out of danger.
