The meeting of two-member committee formed by President Asif Ali Zardari, comprising Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik, held a meeting on Monday at Chief Minister House here. An official statement said that the meeting discussed and reviewed the law and order situation of province of Sindh particularly the Karachi and expressed overall satisfaction.
It said that both the leaders expressed their belief that the government will take all coalition partners on board and will consider the suggestions and proposals of coalition partners. It was decided in the meeting that efforts would be made to curb the activities of culprits, anti-social and anti-nation elements, while the number of police force and Rangers will be increased so as to protect the lives and properties of people.
There will be a strict vigilance in order to curb the activities of various groups of criminals. Both the leaders expressed their satisfaction over the performance of police and Rangers and it was stressed to further improve the performance of law enforcement agencies.
The meeting also discussed the recent incidents of violence and decided that the cases of persons arrested and found involved and indulged in target killings, would be sent to the courts of law and necessary arrangements to this effect will be evolved. The meeting also considered other issues in detail and evolved way and means to handle the situation.
