Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has prepared a breakaway plan from PPP in Punjab, if Prime Minister Gilani did not respond with 'yes' or 'no' for the implementation of its 10-point agenda as per the deadline. The deadline given by the PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif after party's Central Organising Committee meeting is expiring on Monday (January 10).
Sources in the PML-N told Business Recorder that the PML-N leadership has decided not to give any support to the present government. "If the PPP government did not show any seriousness on improving governance through implementation of PML-N's 10-point agenda, all options are open for the PML-N," the sources said. PML-N senior leader Ahsan Iqbal said that the ultimatum issued by the PML-N to the government persists and if the government fails to respond positively, the PML-N will have no other option but to remove Pakistan People's Party from Punjab set up.
Reacting to decision of Muttahida Qaumi Movement's rejoining the treasury benches; he said the PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif had already said that they would not become part of puppet show. However, he expressed optimism that if the government attached importance to the country's interests as well as people, it would 'say yes' to the PML-N's 10-point agenda.
Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah told reporters that the PML-N would contact the opposition parties, if it failed to get any positive response from the government. "If the PPP government did not accept demands of the PML-N, the PPP ministers from the Punjab Cabinet would be removed," he added.
He warned that PPP must issue statements over the probe into assassination of the Punjab Governor with utmost care and responsibility. The investigation in the case should not be diverted to different direction, he said. On the other hand, Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Babar Awan has said the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) will respond to a deadline given by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) after January 10.
Talking to the media after Mehfil-e-Milad at the residence of Dr Tanvir-ul-Islam, Punjab Minister for Sports and Culture here on Friday, Babar Awan said that deadlines were not given in politics. He questioned PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif that why Fazal-ur-Rehman Niazi, President PML-N Lawyers Wing Islamabad, had presented flowers to the assassinator of Salman Taseer? "Is it the party policy of the PML-N" he asked? He hoped it was not the policy of Nawaz Sharif.
