Deputy Parliamentary leader of MQM in National Assembly Haider Abbas Rizvi has told Business Recorder that the government has addressed MQM's reservations through a dialogue and accepted its demands including eradication of commissionerate system, involvement of MQM in decision-making process, and it has also delayed the implementation of Reformed General Sales Tax.
The MQM has taken the decision to rejoin the government but not the federal cabinet, in the larger interest of the country. After the successful dialogues as PPP's government has accepted MQM's demand of taking the decision of hike in petroleum prices back, he added.
He said the MQM would support every step taken towards the betterment of the country and to strengthen democracy. Rizvi said the Prime Minister had formed a special parliamentary committee which would prepare an economic roadmap to steer the country out of the financial crisis and MQM would support the committee and play its role. Answering a question about controversial statement of Home Minister Sindh Zulfiqar Mirza, he said the ball is now in President's court as MQM has left the matter to be decided by the President.
