Inefficient security termed main cause behind tragedy: Sindh Assembly condemns Taseer's assassination

Sindh Assembly Friday unanimously passed a resolution condemning the assassination of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer and said that inefficient security was the main cause behind the tragedy. The resolution, presented before the House by Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ayaz Soomro, was fully backed by the members of the Treasury and Opposition benches.
The session was adjourned after the passage of the resolution. Earlier, the session presided over by Speaker Nisar Khuhro, offered fateha for Taseer. Addressing the House, Law Minister said that PPP had suffered an irreparable loss due to the murder of Taseer and the House expressed deep profound condolences to his family.
The Minister for Local Bodies, Agha Siraj Durrani said that Salmaan Taseer was a great leader and an important asset of PPP. Others who spoke in the condolence session including Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, Minister for Fisheries, Zahid Hussain Bhurgari, Sindh Minister for Women Development Tauqir Fatima Bhutto, Minister for Electric Power Shazia Marri, PPP member minorities Saleem Khursheed Khuhro, PPP MPA Rasheeda Panhwar and MQM Parliamentary Leader Syed Sardar Ahmed.
