JUI-F to boycott meeting summoned by Prime Minister

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) demanded of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's resignation along with his cabinet on Wednesday, besides announcing to boycott the meeting summoned by the prime minister on the situation arising out of the surge in petroleum products' prices.
The JUI-F's parliamentary committee met with party's Secretary General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri in the chair here at Parliament House and discussed the prevailing political situation of the country. Later, briefing reporters, Haidri said that as the government has lost numerical majority, hence the prime minister should resign along with his cabinet on moral ground. He said that it was better that the President should ask the prime minister to take vote of confidence from the National Assembly after losing majority by separation of JUI-F and MQM.
About the no-confidence motion, he said it depends on the major opposition parties to initiate it, and he also tagged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as 'friendly-opposition' because the latter decided not to let the federal government down. He said that his party was not in favour of dissolution of the Parliament, however, he added that in-house change would be supported. Announcing to boycott the meeting summoned by prime minister on the situation triggered by the escalation in petroleum products' prices, Haidri said that the increase in oil prices has multiplied the woes of the already inflation-ridden masses.
About the assassination of Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer, he said that the factors behind the murder would be revealed after completion of the investigation. However, he said that if the statement given by the murderer proved as true then "Governor was faultier". Haidri said that the Governor committed carelessness while talking on religious issues. He further said that the federal government was equally responsible for the situation, which resulted in his murder. "The murder of the Governor could have been averted if the government gave timely explanation about the proposed amendments in blasphemy laws", he elaborated.
He alleged the government for making the blasphemy laws, as controversial and also asked the President to abolish the committee headed by Minister for Minorities Affairs regarding amendments in the blasphemy laws. He further demanded that the Bill submitted to the National Assembly on the proposed amendments by Sherry Rehman should also be taken back.
