The government is likely to replace Information Secretary Mansoor Sohail with Taimur Azmat, who is at present working as Additional Secretary in Presidency, sources told Business Recorder. They said that posting and transfer orders of the new Information Secretary would be issued within a couple of days. Azmat has already worked as Punjab Information Secretary.
However, it has not been decided what the new assignment of the present Information Secretary would be. This correspondent called on his cell phone, but could not reach him till the filing of this report. According to sources, transfers and postings in other federal ministries at the top level are also being planned, especially after the transfer of some ministries to the provinces, in the light of 18th amendment.
