Elections of Lahore Education Reporters Association (LERA) was held at Punjab University on Saturday which elected Mansoor Malik (Dawn) as President, Abdul Ghafoor Hayee (Jinnah) as General Secretary, Rana Muhammad Ali (Din) Vice-President, Aun Zahoor (Jurrat) Finance Secretary, Syed Sajjad Kazmi (Ausaf) Information Secretary and Amra Ibrar (City 42) as Incharge Women Wing.
According to details the elections was held at New Campus where education reporters from print and electronic media casted their votes to elect their representatives. Close competition was observed on the seat of General Secretary between Abdul Ghafoor Haye and Azhar Maqbool, which was won by A.G. Hayee, while Rana Muhammad Ali won Vice-President seat from Muhammad Ali Asghar. Mansoor Malik was elected unopposed. Aun Zahoor, Syed Sajjad Kazmi and Amra Abrar were also elected unopposed Finance Secretary, Information Secretary and Incharge Women Wing, respectively.
Talking to media Mansoor Malik said that he would try his best to make association more functional and will try to meet the expectations of the members. General Secretary AG Hayee said that his primary objective is to get the membership of Press Club for those LERA members who are not successful in getting the Press Club membership. Vice-President Rana Muhammad Ali said that he will try to solve the problems of reporter on priorities.-PR
