Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 92,874 tonnes of cargo including 62,238 tonnes of import cargo, 30,636 tonnes of export cargo, 4,009 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 62,238 tonnes comprised of 18,025 tonnes of containerised cargo; 66 tonnes of general cargo; 33,147 tonnes of bulk cargo: 572 tonnes of sugar; 22,018 tonnes of coal; 10,557 canola seeds and 11,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 30,636 tonnes comprised of 26,356 tonnes of containerised cargo; 185 tonnes of general cargo and 4,985 tonnes of cement. Six ships namely Thuringia Express, CSL Ride, Troy, Ocean Host, Priya and MT Lahore with containers, coal, petrol and crude oil sailed out to sea during the reported period. Three vessels viz Hanjin Beijiang, Hansa Stavanger and New Challenge carrying containers and petrol are currently at the berth.
Four ships namely Hansa Stavanger, Hanjin Beijiang, Cathrina and Magali carrying containers, cement and containers expected to sail on Friday. Five vessels viz SC Guangzhou, TS Nogoya, APL Chicago, Liberty Promise and Nordana Andras carrying chemicals, containers, vehicle and steel due to arrive on Friday, while four vessels viz MT Karachi, YM Asia, MOL Seabreeze and Medi Chennal with crude oil, containers and coal are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 90,370 tonnes of cargo includes 75,910 tonnes of import cargo and 14,460 tonnes of export cargo, 2,267 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 75,910 tonnes includes 30,343 tonnes of diesel oil; 4,592 tonnes of palm oil; 3,980 tonnes of sugar; 16,590 tonnes of canola seeds; 4,475 tonnes of chemicals and 15,930 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 14,460 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely MT Al-Soor-II, MSC Nederland and MT Chemroad Fuji sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another five ships namely MV Lanka Mahapola, MV Al-Jaber, MT Lahore Express, SC Zhuhai and MV MY Young are expected to sail on Friday.
A total number of twelve vessels viz CV Glory, MT Lahore Express, MSC Nederland, MV Lanka Mahapola, MV MY Young, MV Yon Phung Ho, MV Al-Jaber, MV Panaglotis-D, MT Chemroad Fuji, MT Al-Soor-II, Karadeniz Karabey and SC Zhuhai are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, sugar, chemicals, canola seeds, rental power plant and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven ships namely CSAV Jura, MSC Anafi, Timos Stayros, Troy, Sichem Melbourn, DL Violet and ST Martin carrying containers, rice, chemicals and LPG-mix are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of five vessels viz namely G CSAV Jura, MSC Anafi, Timos Stayros, Troy and Sichem Melbourn with containers, rice and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday.
