KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair here on Thursday chaired a meeting to review security arrangements being made for the metropolis on the eve of Eid Milad un Nabi.

The meeting among others was also attended by Karachi Mayor, Wasim Akhter, IG-Sindh Police, AD. Khowaja, Additional IG - Karachi, Mushtaq Ahmad Mahar and officials from other concerned departments, alongwith local religious leaders.

The participants presented their respective reports about arrangements being made for the occasion, with special reference to fool proof security, maintenance of law and order situation, cleanliness and uninterrupted power supply to designated sites for congregation and procession routes.

Governor of Sindh playing glowing tributes to the policemen and their colleagues from rangers for taking upon the task of protecting the lives and properties of citizens, amidst the threat of terrorism, said all concerned stakeholders have to realize their respective responsibilities.

He said masses can never forget the sacrifices made by cops and personnel belonging to law enforcing agencies to protect their compatriots at the cost of their own lives.

Acknowledging the cooperation extended by the religious scholars, he urged them to play their role in forging unity among the people and inculcating among them the virtues of peace, tolerance and sacrifice.

Sindh police department officials were asked to particularly ensure security coupled with adequate arrangements for alternative traffic routes so that people in general and commuters in particular may not face any difficulty.

Asking KE officials to keep updated the city administration about arrangements being made to meet additional power load during the month of Rabi ul Awal, the Governor directed local government officials to ensure adequate cleanliness across the metropolis.
