The annual function of Bazm-e-Kiran, an organisation engaged in fighting-waywardness in the society, was held at Defence Central Library. The speakers highlighted the rapidly spreading trend of waywardness in youth eroding the vitals of society and suggested ways and means for countering the menace effectively.
Khalid-ul-Aziz, who conducted the programme, spelled out the salient aims and objectives of the Bazm-e-Kiran which included efforts to discourage materialism, to strengthen the family value system with emphasis on respect for elders and women and to fight the onslaught of western culture that was leading to increasing tendency of excessive smoking, alcoholism and drug culture in the society.

He said that a technical training workshop by the name of "young offenders industrial school" had been established by Bazm-e-Kiran adjacent to the Central Jail to bring the young inmates in the main stream of life so that they could earn an honest living.
He said Bazm-e-Kiran was also regularly interacting with young offenders ie children upto 18 years of age who had either been going a prison term or under process of court hearing but not lodged in jail. He reiterated that society was totally committed to bring back the unfortunate youth back to normal life.
Abdullah Feroz talked on 'family value system' and stressed the importance for parents to spare some time for their children. Nisar Memon emphasised the significance of education without which improvement in the society was not possible. Chief Guest Sardar Yasin Malik stressed on the need to strengthen eastern family value system where inbuilt check and balances exist for young boys and girls to keep them away form waywardness.
Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan laid great emphasis on Islamic injunctions which had laid down a successful code of life ie a human being would only be given credit in life hereafter if he cared for the needs of other under privileged. Zafar Iqbal in his concluding remarks said that efforts of Bazm-e-Kiran could only succeed if every individual in the society played his/her due role to avoid dangerous drift towards waywardness which was exponentially growing in the society.-PR
