E-filing of tax returns: notices issued to 12,000 corporate taxpayers
The Federal Board of Revenue on Wednesday issued notices to around 12,000 companies, corporate entities and business units to electronically file their income tax returns by December 31 for the Tax Year 2010. In this regard, the FBR has communicated the electronic intimations to the registered companies here on Wednesday.
The Board has issued intimations to all those corporate taxpayers, who have yet not filed their income tax returns for the Tax Year 2010. The FBR has advised the corporate taxpayers to file their returns electronically on December 30 to avoid over burden on the system on December 31. The filing of returns on December 30 would facilitate the corporate entities to work in a hassle free environment.
The FBR has also granted facility to the corporate sector for avail extension in time for filing of return. In such cases the corporate taxpayers should submit electronic request at E-FBR Portal. The timely request by the corporate entities would help the department
According to one of the notices issued to the corporate taxpayers, as per e-filing system of the FBR, the company has not furnished the return of income for the tax year 2010 required to be filed under section 114 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, so far. It has been reminded to furnish the return of income for the said tax year on or before December 31 2010 at eFBR Portal (https://e.fbr.gov.pk), in order to avoid legal implications. In case the company wants to avail of extension in time for filing of return, the unit should submit electronic request at eFBR portal (https://e.fbr.gov.pk), the FBR notice added.
