According to the information of DGPR received here Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the generous help and assistance to the flood survivors by Turk people will always be remembered.
He said that the services of Turkish International Co-operation Agency for the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims are commendable as they took an active part in this noble cause. He stated this during a meeting with Director TIKA, Musa Kulakl Koya at his office in Ankara during the day.
The chief minister said that TIKA is working on various projects in Punjab, such as setting up hospitals and vocational institutes for the rehabilitation of flood victims, which is highly commendable. He added that land has been transferred so that these projects of public welfare could be completed at the earliest and medical and vocational training facilities become available for the flood affectees.
Shahbaz said agreements have also been signed with Istanbul Municipality for the promotion of co-operation in solid waste management and technical education sectors. He expressed that the love and affection shown to him by Turk people, during his visit to Turkey, cannot be described in words. He again thanked Director TIKA for his active role in the relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees.
Earlier, Musa Kulakl Koya briefed the chief minister about the projects for the rehabilitation of flood affectees in Punjab. He said work is in progress on setting up of hospitals in Jampur, Basira and Muzaffargarh and vocational institutes, adding that these projects will soon be completed. Members Punjab Assembly, Mian Mohsin Latif, Kh. Salman Rafique, Kh. Ahmed Hasaan, Ambassador of Turkey in Pakistan, Babar Hazlan and Pakistani Ambassador in Turkey Tariq Aziz-ud-Din were also present on the occasion.
