PML-Q not in favour of dislodging government: Shujaat

Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussein on Monday said his party is not in favour of dislodging the present government because in the past such moves had not produced positive results. He said this while talking to reporters at his Gulberg residence after meeting with a delegation of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) led by its President and Convenor Tehreek-e-Namoos Risalat Dr Zubair Ahmed.
Sources told Business Recorder that the JUP delegation sought support of PML-Q for the shutterdown strike on December 31. Tehreek-e-Namoos Risalat had given this strike call to press the government to abstain from bringing any amendment in the blasphemy law.
The JUP delegation also invited PML-Q President to attend the public meeting arranged by Tehreek-e-Namoos Risalat on January 9, 2011 at Karachi. The JUP delegation was comprised of Pir Ijaz Ahmed Hashmi, Saeed Ahmed, Qari Zawar Bahadur, Dr Javed Akhtar and Rasheed Ahmed Rizvi.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussein told reporters that they are not going to form government in Punjab with People's Party. "N-League and People's Party are ruling in Punjab and Centre jointly," he said, adding: "N-League is ruling 65% of Pakistan." He reiterated that Nawaz Sharif is playing the role of friendly opposition.
Answering a question about remarks of Nawaz Sharif regarding MQM, Shujaat said Nawaz Sharif had tension with everyone including MQM because he (Nawaz) considers that he enjoys massive public support. He added that they had not left Nawaz Sharif rather he himself escaped. "We never parted ways with anybody. If anyone left us it was his choice," he said.
About blasphemy law, the PML-Q President said he would never allow anyone bring amendment to the law. "If any attempt is made to distort the present law, it would open new Pandora's box which would create manifold issues. If any body have some reservations, fresh proposals be given but no body would be allowed to bring any change in the existing law," he said. He added the PML-Q had raised strong voice in the parliament to stop move of brining change in the present law.
Shujaat also announced full support for December 31 shutterdown strike call of Tehreek-e-Namoos Risalat. He also assured to participate in public meeting to be held in Karachi on January 9, under the auspices of Tehreek-e-Namoos Risalat. Dr Zubair Ahmed criticised PPP and PML-N saying a new force is emerging in the country.
