Bullish sentiments dominate LSE

Bullish sentiments dominated on the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) on Monday and the equities registered gains amid decreased trading turnover on account of lacking investors' interest. The LSE-25 index was marginally improved by 9.06 points and was closed at 3680.90 against 3671.84 of last Friday while transaction volume was declined to 2.609 million shares as compared to previous volume of 5.292 million shares.
The market opened on a positive sign and stayed in green zone throughout the day. Fresh buying in oil sector's companies like Attock Refinery, Pakistan Oil Fields, and PSO helped market stay in positive column, while Habib Bank, National Bank, Bank Alfalah, Nishat Mills, D G Khan Cement, Fauji Fertiliser, Fatima Fertiliser, Arif Habib Corporation also supported the sentiments.
However, Engro Polymer and Chemical, Nishat Power, Lafarge Pakistan Cement, Sui Southern, PTCL and Pervez Ahmed Securities remained under selling pressure and closed with marginal losses. The gainers were more than the losers. Of 130 active issues, 40 companies posted gains, 17 went down, while values of 73 companies remained unchanged at their previous levels. Attock Refinery gained Rs 2.15, Pakistan Oil Fields was improved by Rs 2.02, Habib Bank was appreciated by Rs 1.90 while Engro Corporation and Fauji Fertiliser were up by Rs 1.78 and Rs 1.66 respectively.
D S Industries lost 14-paisa, Engro Polymer and Chemical was declined by 13-paisa while Orix Leasing was down by 12-paisa. Lotte Pakistan PTA with trading of 401,291 shares topped the volume leaders followed by Arif Habib Corporation with 299,413 shares.
