A meeting of the Executive Committee of Pakistan People's Party Larkana District was held here on Saturday at local circuit house Larkana to finalise the arrangements for observing the third death anniversary of the slain chairperson of PPP Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, on December 27.
The meeting was chaired by the President PPP Larkana District Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, who is also the Sindh Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs. All the district branches of the party were directed to observe the death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto with reverence and to hold Quran Khawani. District information secretary of PPP Larkana Asghar Sheikh said that day would dawn with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by Musharia at 1 pm. free food (Lunger) will also distributed on the occasion.
The co-chairman of PPP and the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, central leaders of PPP would address the public gathering in President House Naudero in the evening and two minutes silence would be observed followed by screening the documentary film regarding the life and achievements of the slain leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, he added.
The speeches of the central leaders of the PPP will be live telecast on big screens at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto for general public. The meeting after detailed discussion decided making arrangements at the site to facilitate visitors. The scanning gates would be installed on the day for scanning people along with constructing watch towers around main venue for fool proof security arrangements, he said.
He said ranger personnel along with police would look after the security arrangements on the occasion. Alternate routes would be used to effectively handle the traffic, Asghar Sheikh added. The MPAs Haji Munawwar Ali Abbasi, Ghulam Mujadid Isran, district, taluka office bearers of PPP and its sister organisations attended the meeting and tabled their proposals for the smooth celebration.
