ANF arrests 18 drug pushers

Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested 18 drug pushers, including nine female and two male foreign smugglers in different operations and recovered 15.8-kg heroin, 650-kg charas and 29-kg opium from them, seizing two vehicles. A spokesman of the ANF said that international gangs of drug traffickers have enhanced their activities are using Pakistan as transit route while the ANF has also expanded its operation to take them to task.
He said that six members of an international gang of drug smugglers, including four women was intercepted at Islamabad International airport when they were about to board a Dubai-bound flight of Emirates Airlines, EK-615. He said that the drug traffickers identified as female smugglers are: Muntinta Myoba of Zambia, Mootha Pondo of Zambia, Katty Cloudine of the Philippines, Louisa Andylwood of Ghana and male Obi Peter of Nigeria and Victor Antwi of Ghana. They were carrying drugs in their accompanied baggage, but were seized by vigilant ANF staff, he added.
ANF spokesman said that another lady smuggler Caroline Akinny Antiga of Kenya was stopped at Islamabad international Airport as she was travelling to South Africa on board Emirates Airline flight, EK-613. Drugs were recovered from hidden cavities of her baggage.
He said that a Zambian Lady smuggler Mary Mvula was arrested by ANF staff from Islamabad International Airport when she was leaving for Dubai through Emirates Airlines flight EK-613. Another Zambian lady smuggler Cynthia Mikandawire was also arrested from the Airport, travelling to Dubai on board EK-615. Two more Zambian drug smugglers namely Mable and Hildah Malaya were arrested from Daewoo Bus Terminal at Peshawar Morr Rawalpindi, who were carrying drug in their baggage, he said.
The ANF spokesman said at Brahama-Jhang interchange on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway, ANF team arrested drug smuggler Fida Muhammad son of Taj Muhammad of Mardan and recovered huge quantity of charas from his possession. He said that three drug smugglers namely Sher Hassan son of Khushal Khan of Swabi, Sakhawat Khan s/o Mir Muhammad of Peshawar and Zohaib Hassan son of Noor Karim of Khyber Agency were arrested from Motorway Chowk Rawalpindi. He said that ANF team stopped a drug smuggler Muhammad Amir son of Manzoor Hussain of Toba Tek Singh at Motorway Chowk and on search drugs were recovered from his possession.
