The family members and relatives of detainees in Peoples' Republic of China demanded the utilisation of diplomatic channels for their immediate release. About 3,500 Pakistanis were jailed during the last five years in different prisons in China out of which 66 belonging Khyber Pakhtunkhwa," told chairman, Voice of Prisoners (VoPs), Noor Alam Advocate to media during a news conference here on Wednesday.
He was flanked by the families and relatives of the detainees in the Peoples' Republic of China. He informed the detained persons had implicated in drugs and other illegal deeds, but their families and relatives came to know about them after the passage of three years of their detention. He added that the detainees were included those sentenced life imprisonment and death penalties due to ignorance of their relatives.
Advocate Noor Alam lamented that the Pakistan Embassy didn't have any data or record about the detainees. A large number of Pakistani, have also been detained in different prisons of Afghanistan for illegal stay to earn money for their poor families, he maintained.
