A 10-member business delegation headed by President of Legislative Council of New South Wales (NSW) Amanda Fazio visited the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) office to explore areas of mutual interest for enhancing trade and investment. Chief Executive Officer PBIT, Saadat Muzaffar briefed the delegation about the investment and trade opportunities in key sectors including agriculture, livestock, mines and minerals, education (technical and vocational training) and energy.
He also informed the delegation about a number of investment projects. Muzaffar also facilitated the delegation with the knowledge of key areas mutually beneficial to both countries including exchange programmes for academia and researchers, trade in textile, fresh fruits and livestock sectors.
Amanda Fazio said that another business delegation would visit Lahore in February next year to promote joint ventures between private sectors of both the countries. Points of co-operation including transfer of experts to build technical capacity, investment in education sector and potential joint ventures in agriculture sector were also discussed during the meeting.
