Responding to emergency situation: MoU signed to train traders, industrialists
Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which training will be provided to traders and Industrialists to avert any mishap like Gakhar Plaza inferno in future.
President RCCI Ali Raza Saeed Shah and Director General Rescue 1122 Rizwan Naseer signed the MoU at a ceremony held at Chamber House. Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Makeen Shahbaz, Station Commander Brigadier Zaman Nasarullah Khan Niazi, District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Imdadullah Bosal, RCCI Senior Vice President Mian Muhammad Ateeq, Vice President Dr Shimail Daud and other members of the Executive Committee were also present on the occasion.
President RCCI Ali Raza Saeed praised the role of Rescue 1122 saying that it was the country's only professional rescue service. He said that RCCI pay great tributes to the 13 martyrs of the 1122, who lost their lives in the Gakhar Plaza mishap. He further said that basic purpose of signing the MoU was to train business community to avoid such incidents in future. He said that RCCI had always worked for the betterment of the business community and would continue doing so in future.
Speaking on the occasion Rizwan Naseer said that Rescue 1122 has immense potential to cope with any sort of mishap. He said that Rescue 1122 was the country's only professional rescue service, which was working in all districts of the Punjab province. He said that Rescue 1122 and RCCI would jointly organise training programmes, seminars and workshops to create awareness among the masses especially among the business community.
