ISLAMABAD: A fire engulfed the oil depot near Benazir international airport after consecutive explosions rocked the area, a private news channel reported on Thursday night.

According to sources the two oil tankers were leaving the oil depot, when the driver encountered a problem with one of the tankers,then there was a spark, followed by a huge explosion which blew up both the vehicles.

According to the initial report, rescue teams reached the site soon after the incident and launched operation to extinguish fire. Residential areas have been evacuated.
