Federal Minister for Youth Affairs (MoYA) Shahid Hussain Bhutto on Sunday said that the ministry is initiating several activities regarding youth development in the country. Talking to APP he said these initiatives would be launched in partnership with organisations such as RSPN, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), UNFPA and the British Council.
He hoped that the corporate sector would also become involved in this process. Bhutto said that majority of youth live in rural areas and special opportunities should be created by both public and private sector to include them in the development plans.
He said that the ministry of Youth Affairs is planning for special skill training package for youth in jails so that they can lead respectable lives when they come out. He called for collaborated efforts of the government and civil society for an effective planning to resolve the issues being faced by youth of the country.
The minister said that youth is an imperative section of society, which plays a pivotal role in the economy for sustainable growth and overall progress of the country.
Bhutto said that it is our mission to establish innovative programmes to alleviate poverty and bring out the leadership skills of the youths of our society for bright future.
