A man, his wife and their eight-year-old daughter were strangled by their servant and his two accomplices on Sunday and their bodies were dumped behind Haj Complex near the Tarnol area in the outskirts of the city. According to police, Dr Khalid Ansari, his wife Aneela and their eight-year-old daughter Fatima were strangled by their servant Iqbal and his two accomplices Rashid and Jawad.
The incident came to light, when a relative of Aneela, after failing to contact her on the phone, reached her house and found out that no one was present and the door was locked with the car missing from the garage. After smelling something fishy, the relative informed police about the situation.
On inquiring the matter, Shalimar Police managed to trace Dr Ansari's car, and caught the servant's accomplices red handed as they were trying to change the original number plate of the car.
During interrogation, Rashid and Jawad revealed that Dr Ansari's servant Iqbal had enticed them into committing the crime. According to them, Iqbal had offered them Dr Ansari's expensive car, while he decided to take possession of the jewels, cash and other valuables in the house.
They also revealed that the woman and her daughter were strangled with a cloth while Dr Ansari was strangled with a copper wire. Their dead bodies were then put in the car and were dumped in an isolated place in Dhok Gujran behind Haj Complex near Tarnol. While Rashid and Jawad were disposing off the dead bodies, Iqbal ran away with cash and jewels.
All three dead bodies were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where autopsy was being carried out till the filing of this report. Police said that Dr Khalid Ansari was a well-established businessman and his wife Aneela hosted a TV show on physical fitness.
