NAWABSHAH: Chairman Helping Hand America Dr Farukh Raza has said that education is the only way for a nation to develop.
He said that the country could come out of the whirlpool if the literacy rate increases.
He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of "Syed Muhammad Saleem Science Block and Library" recently constructed in collaboration with Tameer Millat High School and Helping Hand America.
The programme was widely attended by teachers, elite of city, students and people from different walks of life.
Dr Farukh Raza said that Helping Hand was working for the welfare of humanity in more than 60 countries world wide. He said that Helping Hand receives funds from Pakistani people settled in America and other Muslim countries.
Country Director, Dr Fazal-ur- Rehman said that Helping Hand works for relief for the people affected by floods and natural calamity.
He said that apart from relief work, Helping Hand is involved in the field of education. More than 5000 orphan children in 37 districts of the country including Nawabshah are provided education and other requirements, he said. The poor women are imparted technical training in different fields to make them able to earn bread, he further said.
President Idara- e-Ahia-ul-Islam Nawabshah and District Ameer Jamaat Islami, Prof Aijaz Alam said that the role of teachers is important. He said that teachers should pay attention towards character- building of students and on their curricular and extra curricular activities so that they could be prepared to play a role in the development of Pakistan.
He said that President Helping Hand Dr Farukh Raza is son of Nawabshah and central leader of American Muslims' biggest organisation AKNA. He also supervises relief and welfare work round the world.
School Principal Waheed-ur- Rehman Shami and Muhammad Ali Shaikh also addressed the occasion.
