A large delegation from SITE industrial area is to visit Hamriay Free Zone Sharjah in near future, said a SAI statement here Saturday.

Senior Vice Chairman of SITE Association of Industry, Asad Nisar Barkhurdaria and Vice Chairman Junaid Muhammad Siddiq had a detailed session with CEO of Hamriay Free Zone, Dawood Al-Takrimi during a visit to Magnificent- 7 UAE Expo-2011, at Karachi Expo Centre.

Dawood Al-Takrimi, who had invited the SAI leadership, gave a warm welcome to SAI delegation.

Dawood gave them a brief introduction on Hamriay Free Zone and Hamriay Free Zone Authority, Sharjah which was established in 1995 by an Emiri decree.

He said the zone is one of the fastest growing and dynamic free zones in the world; housing over 5,500 companies from 137 countries. It is spread over three thousand acres of land and is divided into six clusters for different type of industries, warehouses and offices. Spaces are available on cheaper rates as compared to other Free Zones in United Arab Emirates, he maintained.

He said that the main purpose of holding of Magnificent- 7 UAE Expo 2011 in the industrial and trading hub Karachi was to further promote investment and trade relations between the two countries.

Dawood also informed that Hamriay Free Zone is exclusively providing one window operation for the investors which includes registration and issuance of visa for investors and employment visas to their employees.

The SAI team took a round of the exhibition and appreciated the extensive display of fine quality UAE goods and services which will play a positive role in strengthening the ties between the UAE and Pakistan and promoting the bilateral trade as well as commercial cooperation between the two countries.

Senior Vice Chairman of SAI, Asad Nisar also spoke about the vast opportunities for foreign direct investments and joint ventures in Pakistan especially in infrastructure development, power generation, agriculture-based industries, insurance and real estate in Pakistan and hoped the UAE government will come forward and invest in these sectors.

He thanked and accepted the invitation of Dawood Al-Takrimi to visit Hamriay Free Zone in the near future along with potential industrialists and traders from SITE industrial area of Karachi.
