Rs.200m approved for Sehwan development projects: Talpur

HYDERABAD: The President Asif Ali Zardari has approved a special grant of Rs. 200 millions for development projects of Sehwan Town and the shrine of great saint Hazrat Usman Marvandi Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

The Member National Assembly Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur while addressing an open kutchery at Jamshoro on Saturday informed that the President is taking keen interest for the development of Sehwan town particularly the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

The President fully desired to see Sehwan one of the developed towns as Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had deep respect for the great saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

During the meeting with the President MNA Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur said that he informed him the problems being faced by the residents of Sehwan town and the President very kindly approved a special grant of Rs. 200 million for drainage and sewerage systems of the town, repair, renovation and security of the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

Talking about delay in work of over head bridge at Kotri Telegraph Railway Crossing, the MNA said that it has been delayed on technical conflicts between the federal and provincial governments despite the fact that the federal government has released an amount of Rs. 250 million for the project.

On his complaint, Talpur said, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani not only ordered enquiry into the matter but handed over the project to National Highway Authority with the approval of Rs 537.5 million grant. The PC-I of the project has been completed and the project will be started soon, he assured.

Meanwhile, Nawab Talpur met with a delegation of PPP Taluka Sehwan headed by Ashfaq Ahmed Soomro and Munir Channa which apprised him of the problems being faced by the residents of the town. He assured the delegation that after completion of the development projects, the residents of the town will heave sigh of relief.
