Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed has been elected as President of the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) defeating former Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lieutenant General Tauqir Zia. The elections of LCCA were held under the supervision of Abdul Sami Khan, Election Commissioner of Pakistan Cricket Board here at Gaddafi Stadium.
Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed who was enjoying support of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management secured 21 votes, while Tauqir Zia bagged only 13 votes. All the 34 voters used their right of franchise. The interesting feature of LCCA elections was that Aamer Hayat Khan Rokhri failed to get even a single vote. Mian Javed Ali and Sarfraz Ahmed have been elected unopposed, as Secretary and Treasurer of LCCA. After the elections, Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed vowed to work devotedly for promotion of cricket, which is facing difficult time due to various reasons.
