Argentine soy prices track Chicago lower

BUENOS AIRES: Argentina closing soy prices and trends on Thursday:

* Soy prices in Rosario fell to 1,160-1,200 pesos per tonne ($271-280), compared with 1,210 pesos in the previous session, pressured by losses at the CBOT.

* Trade volume shrank to near-nothing, compared with about 10,000 tonnes a day earlier.

* Soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade closed lower, halting a three-day rally amid pressure from lackluster US soybean export sales and prospects for large South American crops, traders said.

* In Rosario, soybeans for May 2012 delivery, priced in US dollars, closed down $5 to $270 per tonne.

* In the southern port of Bahia Blanca, soy shed 10 pesos to 1,020 pesos per tonne. In Quequen, where no official price was listed for Wednesday, soy also closed at 1,020 pesos per tonne.
