LAHORE: The grant donated by international donors to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) for research related projects has surpassed the annual budget of Rs 500 million of the varsity, said Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Nawaz while talking to APP on Tuesday.
The annual budget of the UVAS in fiscal year 2010-11 was Rs 430 million which swelled to Rs 500 million in 2011-12 while the donors grant for research projects in 2010-11 was Rs 550 million, he said.
It is a sign of big acknowledgement of the performance of the UVAS by the international donors in the field of livestock and dairy development, the VC maintained.
He further said that 15 different projects of livestock and dairy development had been selected by the international donor agencies including USDA, US association for enhancement of sciences, Norway and IAEA and Rs 330 million had so far been released.
