imasssaaKARACHI: Seven on-going development schemes in the metropolis would be completed by February next year with a sum of Rs 1,200 million approximately.

An official statement here on Tuesday said that Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, presiding a high-level meeting at the governor House reviewed the progress of these scheme.

The meeting also discussed the new schemes that are to be initiated as well as the future plans.

The Governor directed that all the schemes should be completed in accordance with the time schedule and by maintaining the required standard.

He said that priority should be accorded to those schemes that provide relief to the public at large.

Dr. Ishrat stressed that there should be no disruption in the system providing facilities to the people and these should continue at regular pace.

The schemes to be completed by February next year include rehabilitation and improvement of Hub River Road from Piracha Chowk to Northern Bypass, improvement and rehabilitation of internal roads in Clifton blocks 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7, widening of Shahrah Ibne Sina in Orangi and widening of two bridges across Gujjar Nallah, construction and rehabilitation of Manghopir Road from Mazar to Surjani Mor Hospital Chowrangi, repair and renovation of road from Mosamiat Chowrangi to Superhighway, repair and rehabilitation of storm water drain from Shahrah Noorjehan to Ziauddin Hospital Chowrangi.

The new schemes would include widening of Korangi Road, construction of causeway from KPT Flyover to Korangi Crossing, flyover of Share Faisal adjacent to Jinnah Terminal, flyover at Nawab Siddiq Ali Khan Road Nazimabad 7, widening of Shahrah-i-Quaideen from Share Faisal to Khudadad Chowrangi and improvement of storm water drain.

The Governor directed that planning of signal free corridor 5 from Gurumandir to Sohrab Goth be completed at the earliest. Under the project flyovers would be completed at Aisha Manzil, Waterpump, Dakkhana and Teen Hatti.
