LONDON: European stock markets fell at the start of trading on Tuesday, a day after spiking higher on rumours that indebted Italy was set for a financial bailout.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped 0.35 percent to 5,293.75 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 0.34 percent to 5,725.68 points and in Paris the CAC 40 slipped 0.50 percent to 2,995.96.
