Akshay Kumar arrested over 'obscenity'

Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar was arrested Monday on suspicion of obscene behaviour during a recent fashion show in Mumbai, police said. A complaint had been lodged against Kumar and his wife, Twinkle Khanna, after she was photographed unbuttoning a pair of jeans that the actor was modelling on the catwalk at the Lakme Fashion Week in March.
"I can confirm that Akshay Kumar came to Vakola police station (in Mumbai) at 8:30 am with his lawyer and surrendered himself," assistant commissioner of police Arvind Mahdadi told AFP. "He was arrested under section 294 of Indian Penal Code and was given bail."
