Punjab capital received light rain on Saturday for short span of period, which decreases the intensity of heat, although it also created muggy weather. According to the Meteorological Department Lahore, depression over west Bengal has moved westwards and on Saturday lies over Chhattis Garh (India).
Similarly, a westerly wave over Malakand still persists and monsoon current from Arabian Sea was reaching Punjab up to 5000 feet. Due to which scattered rains expected over Malakand division, Kashmir along with northern and north-eastern Punjab, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Gujranwala divisions while isolated rain may also occur over Lahore, Bahawalpur divisions and adjoining Sindh.
Meanwhile, Flood Forecasting Division Lahore said that River Indus at Guddu, Sukkar and River Ravi at Balloki are in low flood while Indus Tributaries in NWFP are in very high flood. The water level in Tarbela Dam was measured at 1505.35 feet and in Mangla Dam it was 1192.65 feet.
