BAJAUR AGENCY: Three-day anti polio campaign will start in Bajaur Agency on Monday, total 227,569 children up to five years of age would be given oral polio vaccine across the agency.
An official of the local health department told media here Sunday that a total 709 teams including 41 fixed and 18 transit ones have been constituted for the purpose.
The official told that the administration and the security forces had taken foolproof arrangements for protection of vaccinators across the agency. Health department in collaboration with the world health organization had adopted appropriate arrangements to make the campaign a success and productive while several monitoring teams have also been formed for the purpose, official added.
The official further told that the local health department in collaboration with the local administration had stepped up efforts for eradication of polio virus from the region, adding that the agency would soon rid of polio as no polio case had been reported since November 2012.
